You want to look good and lose weight. There's no secret to it. It's what you parents have been telling you. Eat right and exercise enough. Do that right and you'll not only be looking better, you'll also be feeling better. Eating right Research has shown that soft drinks ( carbonated sugary drinks ) have been a major factor in the increasing rate of obesity. Cut out sugary colas from your diet and you'll cut off a major of sugar. Stick to fruit juices and water which are just as tasty. If you have to have carbonated drinks, go for the diet version. Stay away from carbohydrates. That means less potatoes and fries and bread. Carbs tend to be stored rather efficiently as fat. Instead, go for leafy vegetables which are high in fibre. Avoid fried foods as these too have a high content of oil ( read : fat ). Roasting. grilling and baking meats tends to be more healthy. Exercising right Get that body moving for at least half an hour a day, sufficiently enough to bring your heart rate to 80 % of its maximum. For a 25 year old, that's around 160 beats per minute. It's up to you whether you love running, swimming, playing various sports or aerobic workouts. Weight training also helps to increase your muscle mass which in turn increases the rate at which your body expends energy. Eat right and exercise enough and you'll be looking and feeling much better really soon. |
