Smoking is now officially a major turn-off. A survey by the British NHS Smoking Helpline has shown that more than half of young people polled would reject a kiss from a smoker under the mistletoe this Christmas.
The statistics also show that more than two-thirds of young women and men believe that seeing someone with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth reduces their sexual attraction.
Not only four-fifths of non-smokers, but even one-third of smokers said that they found smoking a big turn-off.
The NHS study polled more than 1,000 people aged 18 to 35 also noted that a fifth of non-smokers had previously turned down a kiss with someone they otherwise found attractive because the person smoked.
50% of the ladies also indicated that they associated a guy who smoked as someone who had less stamina in bed and was unfit.
And half of men indicated that they believed smoking resulted with wrinkles, bad skin and less enjoyable kissing with the ladies.
Perhaps it's time to really kick that puffing habit if you want to get a kiss under the mistletoe in time for Christmas.
