Girls kicked off bus for kissing
Over in Portland, Oregon, two young girls, both aged 14, claim that they were told to get off a TriMet bus for kissing each other and are considering lodging a complaint against the bus driver.
Maika Rich and Jocelyn O’Neal admit they were kissing while seated on the No. 12 bus, which was traveling on Barbur Boulevard at around 5 p.m. on June 8 2007. The pair had been headed to the Sexual Minority Youth Recreation Center. They claim that at this point, a female passenger complained to the driver about the kissing and the driver told them to “knock it off” and also allegedly called them “sickos.” Rich said that she then gave O’Neal a hug as O’Neal seemed upset about the exchange. At that point, the driver allegedly stopped the bus and ordered them off.
A TriMet spokesperson says it is the policy of the organization to never kick an underage or vulnerable person off a bus and that they are talking to the driver about the incident.
